Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Medical Assistant with mandatory home health experience to support our mobile wound care providers in the Charlottesville, VA area. This role is ideal for candidates who are comfortable working in patient homes and have hands-on experience in a home health environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist providers during mobile wound care visits in patient homes and community-based settings
- Prepare patients and clinical supplies for wound care procedures
- Perform basic clinical tasks including vital signs, documentation, and patient preparation
- Support wound assessments, dressing changes, and infection prevention protocols
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Manage and organize wound care supplies and equipment
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and clinical team members
- Adhere to all safety, compliance, and HIPAA standards
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistant (MA or CMA) certification or equivalent clinical experience
- Required: Previous home health experience
- Experience or familiarity with wound care preferred
- Ability to work independently in a mobile care setting
- Strong communication, time-management, and organizational skills
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally
- Basic computer and EMR proficiency
