The Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of stable work history driving specifically in the Residential Solid Waste Industry (Mandatory).
- Licensing: Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with an air-brake endorsement.
- Physical Ability: Willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Background Check: Ability to pass reference checks, criminal background screening, and drug testing (We maintain a Drug-Free / Smoke-Free Workplace / EOE).
Daily Responsibilities
- Drive & Collect: Safely maneuver heavy-duty solid waste collection trucks through residential neighborhoods to collect household waste and recyclables.
- Operate Equipment: Run the mechanisms for loading, compressing, and dumping refuse and recycling materials.
- Inspect & Report: Perform mandatory daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (DVIR) and complete daily worksheets.
- Maintain the Fleet: Ensure your assigned truck is properly fueled, lubricated, serviced, and washed (interior and exterior). Keep your work location orderly.
- Communicate: Follow written/oral instructions, obey all traffic laws, and maintain excellent working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and the local public.
