POSITION DESCRIPTION: FACILITIES TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager / Administrator

JOB SUMMARY
The Facilities Technician is responsible, in conjunction with the Buildings and Grounds Ministry Team and Administrator, for attending to the general maintenance, functionality, appearance, and stewardship of the physical plant of Trinity Presbyterian Church, including the Weekday School and Philips Academy. This position supports the ministry of the church through a service-oriented approach, taking pride in providing a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained campus for members, guests, students, staff, and visitors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. General Maintenance & Repairs
- Performs routine repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on buildings, equipment, and campus infrastructure, including basic electrical, plumbing, painting, installations, and other projects necessary to support operations of the church campus.
- Receives work orders and facilitates their completion in a timely manner.
- Works with the Administrator to coordinate with licensed outside contractors for major repairs beyond the scope of the individual’s experience when needed.
2. Daily Operations & Safety Oversight
- Monitors overall safety operations, cleanliness, and curb appeal of the campus exterior and grounds.
- Coordinate with the Administrator and other specialty contractors to maintain the property.
- Conducts routine safety walks and inspections to ensure compliance with building safety regulations.
- Coordinates automated security schedules, door access, and climate control configurations.
3. Event Setups & Event Support
- Facilitates room configurations, table and chair setups, and equipment staging for meetings, school functions, and special events.
- Performs light janitorial duties associated with events and event turnover.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attends staff and Ministry Team meetings to review facilities status and long-term planning.
- Communicates promptly and professionally regarding schedules, sick leave, PTO requests, and other attendance matters.
- Able to have flexibility of schedule, when necessary, to support church programming and special events.
- Works with volunteers to support the church, Weekday School, and Philips Academy.
- Performs other general duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in general maintenance and facilities upkeep.
- Ability to work independently, manage tasks efficiently, and maintain clear communication with staff and vendors.
- Willingness to grow and learn.
- Reliable transportation.
- No college degree required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Lifting 75 lbs. minimum.
- Walking, standing, bending, crawling, and climbing.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Salary: $40,000–$50,000 (based on experience)
