Position Summary
This is a key support position to the Laboratory and Administrative processes in an analytical setting. The lab works with a variety of samples including foods, pharmaceuticals, paints & coatings, metals, plastics, cosmetics, and raw ingredients on a daily basis. The Laboratory Technician concentrates in the lab, keeping supplies and systems organized. This individual also assists with administrative tasks such as project file maintenance and inventory control. The direct supervisor, company training, and established test methods guide day-to-day decisions. Evaluation is based upon attention to detail and implementation of direction from at least one senior team member while personifying PTL’s Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
- Washing dishes & cleaning sink area
- Emptying waste carboys & drums, filling solvents
- Daily balance checks
- Daily water verification check
- Daily ultrasonic bath cleaning & filling
- Weekly lab sanitation check
- Quarterly refrigerator and freezer temperature mapping report
- Assist with stock solution preparation as needed/requested by chemists
- Sample retain storage & retrieval
- Checking & emptying broken glass container(s)
- Maintain organization of files & samples in retains area
- Handle sample returns to clients as needed
- Sample disposal when required
- Shopping for supplies when needed (Jewel, Sam’s Club, etc.)
- Receiving & labeling lab water carboys when needed
- Compressed gas cylinder receiving and login
- SRM login, inventory, and reconciliation when required
- Lab supply/chemical inventory support and reconciliation when required
- Assists with lab coat collection and coordination with outside vendor
Additional Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness and safety within the laboratory area
- Additional duties may be assigned based upon employee’s background, experience, and capabilities
Qualifications
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel
- Ability to lift 40 lbs
- Multitasking, time management skills, and detail-oriented focus are a must

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
