Medical Assistant – Outpatient Clinic (Contract)

Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours (Scheduled between 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM)
Start Date: August 24, 2026
Local Hourly pay - $27.5
Travel Pay - $1328 /week
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join a busy outpatient primary care clinic. This position is primarily administrative, with limited direct patient interaction. The ideal candidate will have strong outpatient experience, EPIC proficiency, and excellent organizational and communication skills
.
Responsibilities
- Support daily administrative operations in a busy outpatient clinic.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EPIC.
- Assist with patient check-in, rooming, vital signs, and medical history documentation as needed.
- Prepare after-visit summaries and coordinate patient follow-up.
- Perform venipuncture, blood draws, specimen collection, and point-of-care laboratory testing.
- Administer medications, immunizations, and TB tests as appropriate.
- Perform EKGs, hearing and vision screenings, pulse oximetry, wound care, and suture removal.
- Conduct telephone triage, insurance verification, and authorization processing.
- Review laboratory results and make follow-up calls when required.
- Float to other outpatient clinics within the network as needed.
- Follow all clinic policies, documentation standards, and patient safety guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience in an outpatient clinic.
- Medical Assistant Diploma from a DAPIP-accredited program (National certifications alone are not accepted).
- Current BLS Certification (AHA or American Red Cross).
- High School Diploma or GED.
- EPIC EMR experience required.
- Strong experience with venipuncture and blood/lab draws.
- Primary Care, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine experience preferred.

Pay: $1,100.00 - $1,328.00 per week
