Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will support store operations, lead team members, and ensure an outstanding customer experience. Your leadership will help drive sales, manage daily tasks, and uphold our commitment to excellence in retail management.
Duties
- Assist in supervising daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service standards
- Support hiring, onboarding, and employee orientation processes to build a strong team
- Lead team members through training & development initiatives to enhance performance and engagement
- Oversee cash handling, cashiering, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to ensure accuracy and security
- Manage inventory management tasks such as stocking, merchandising, pricing, and inventory control
- Coordinate shift management to ensure smooth store flow and optimal staffing levels
- Implement marketing strategies to promote products and increase sales
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within retail or grocery store environments
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus
- Demonstrated proficiency in retail math, budgeting, payroll, bookkeeping, and cash handling
- Knowledge of POS systems, inventory management, merchandising, and retail sales techniques
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage time effectively under pressure
- Experience with recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, and training & development processes
- Ability to handle customer inquiries with professionalism using phone etiquette and excellent customer service skills
- Management experience in retail sales or grocery stores is highly desirable
