American Traveler is hiring an RN Oncology - Pediatrics for a 13-week hospital assignment requiring APHON Chemotherapy certification and at least one year of pediatric hematology/oncology experience.

Hospital-based Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit (Children's Jimmy Everest Center Hem/Onc)

Cares for pediatric patients with a range of health problems from simple to complex

Day shift schedule: 8-hour shifts, 5 days per week, 40 hours per week

13-week contract assignment

Active RN license issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)

Current BLS certification (AHA)

Current PALS certification (AHA)

APHON Chemotherapy certification required
-
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
-
Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
-
Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
-
Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services

Strong verbal and written communication skills
-
Basic computer skills required

Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric oncology patients
-
Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders
-
Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
-
Monitors physiological data and intervenes as needed based on patient condition
-
Administers prescribed medications and initiates, regulates, and monitors IV infusions and blood products
-
Communicates care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
-
Educates patients and families on hospital procedures
-
Makes referrals for patient care needs and delegates tasks to support staff as appropriate

Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position

Facility maintains strict compliance deadlines, requiring prompt completion of onboarding, background checks, and medical requirements

Returning travelers may extend contracts one time up to a total of 26 weeks, after which a 6-month separation is required before reapplying
