Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
- Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table utilization and minimize wait times, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff as a Food Expediter, relaying orders accurately and promptly to uphold food quality standards.
- Assist in organizing waitlists and monitor guest flow to maintain a balanced and efficient service environment.
- Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing information about reservations, wait times, and general inquiries.
- Support guest services by addressing questions or concerns promptly and courteously to foster positive guest relations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the host stand and ensure adherence to food safety standards throughout all interactions.
Experience
- Previous experience as a host or hostess in a fast-paced restaurant setting is preferred, demonstrating strong customer service skills.
- Familiarity with restaurant reservation management systems such as Waitlist is a plus, but not a requirement.
- Experience in food service or hospitality roles that involve guest interaction, order coordination, or food expediting is highly valued.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy hours while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential for clear coordination with team members and guests.
- Basic math skills are necessary for handling reservations, seating counts.
- Knowledge of food safety practices ensures compliance with health standards during all aspects of the role.
