We are seeking a highly motivated Manual Machinist at our Zelienople, PA facility. This position performs measuring operations within the scope of operations for all equipment. We need someone with a solid mechanical aptitude, excellent organizational skills, with the ability to proficiently read detailed drawings, blueprints, machining procedures, and shop travelers.
This position will report directly to the Machine Shop Group Leader. The schedule for this position is M-F 6:00am-2:30pm.
What you'll do
- Review project assignments/instructions from Team Leader.
- Review drawings and machining requirements for this job.
- Obtain an understanding of the task and develop an action plan.
- Set up milling machines and manual lathes.
- Supervise milling machines and lathes, making any necessary adjustments to produce better results.
- Ensure work meets quality standards.
- Consistently look for ways to eliminate waste and improve processes.
- Practice safety in all aspects of the job.
- Look for any safety issues with equipment and/or processes.
- Participate in safety improvement programs.
What you'll bring
- A combination of training and machining experience is required for this position.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must take initiative and be able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of the team.
- Read and understand Robinson's detailed drawings, blueprints, machining procedures, and shop travelers.
- Ability and willingness to learn CNC programming.
- Ability to work second shift if needed.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to learn how to use all Robinson Machine Shop equipment, tools, measuring equipment, and cranes.
- Basic computer skills to enter job logs and job information into Epicor.
- Well-organized, able to adapt and effectively multi-task, prioritize.
- Must be able to hear safety alarms, climb ladders, lift to 50 lbs., and wear safety boots
