Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Acoustical Ceiling and Drywall Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, finishing, and repairing acoustical ceilings and drywall systems across various commercial and residential projects. Your expertise will help create aesthetically pleasing, soundproof, and durable interior spaces that meet all safety and quality standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilizing your skills in building material installation, blueprint interpretation, and technical craftsmanship to deliver exceptional results.
Duties
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure precise installation of acoustical ceilings and drywall systems.
- Measure dimensions accurately using tape measures, levels, and other hand tools to cut materials to exact specifications.
- Install ceiling grids, panels, tiles, drywall sheets, and related fixtures following manufacturer instructions and project requirements.
- Apply finishing techniques such as taping, mudding, sanding, caulking, and sealing to achieve smooth surfaces ready for painting or further finishing.
- Use power tools and hand tools safely and efficiently to fabricate and install building materials including framing, plastering, and fixture mounting.
- Collaborate with project managers, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and other trades to ensure seamless coordination on-site.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the installation process to adhere to building codes, safety standards, and blueprint specifications.
- Assist in remodeling projects by removing old materials and preparing surfaces for new installations.
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal while following safety protocols at all times.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction site environments with a focus on drywall installation, acoustical ceiling systems, or related trades.
- Familiarity with construction management software such as Bluebeam for digital plan review and project documentation.
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating procedures and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
- Hands-on experience with power tools including saws, drills, screw guns, sanders, and fabrication equipment.
- Skills in plumbing, electrical work or tile masonry are advantageous but not required; they demonstrate versatility on complex projects.
- Ability to perform dimensional measurements precisely using tape measures and levels for high-quality craftsmanship.
- Experience with gutter installation, door hanging, flooring installation or cabinet mounting is a plus for versatile project involvement.
- Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with clients or project stakeholders when needed.
