The Secretary of State’s Office, Political Reform Division, is pleased to announce the opportunity for qualified applicants to apply for a Supervisor I position to organize and direct the division’s analytical and administrative functions of the Data Support and Training and Outreach units. Under the overall direction of the Division Chief, the Assistant Division Chief and the general direction of the Supervisor II, Data Support and Training and Outreach Unit Manager (Supervisor I) plans, organizes and directs the work of staff in the program areas of the Political Reform Division dealing with data collection, retention, migration and reporting, website content, internal and external stakeholder training, education, division procedures and records retention. The incumbent is an integral part of a collaborative management team and is expected to contribute in a meaningful way to the operations of the division. In addition to a working knowledge of standard administrative policies and procedures, the incumbent must acquire an in-depth knowledge of the various statutes, regulations, and policy directives that govern the program and projects within their purview.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Demonstrates good judgement and ability analyze problems, develop and make recommendations accordingly
- Ability to present information and express ideas in a positive, clear, concise, and convincing manner
- Strong project management and advanced technical skills including Power BI, Toad, SQL and Python
- Experience in process improvement and change management
- Demonstrates ability to work independently with excellent follow through on tasks
- Strong interpersonal skills when working within a team, with the public and with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in workplace performance, attendance matters and resource management.
Interest in the importance of transparency in campaign finance and lobbying, and the implementation of new laws and regulations within the program
