The ReStore Inventory Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records for corporate donations, purchased merchandise, and other inventory requiring cost tracking. This position receives and documents inventory, enters information into the inventory management system, verifies invoices, prepares donor receipts, prices merchandise according to established guidelines, and assists management in tracking inventory and recommending pricing adjustments. Accuracy, organization, and attention to detail are essential to the success of this role.
The Inventory Associate serves as an ambassador for Habitat for Humanity of Summit & Wasatch Counties by demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a positive attitude in every interaction with donors, customers, volunteers, vendors, and fellow team members. While inventory accuracy is the primary focus, every team member contributes to providing excellent customer service and advancing Habitat's mission. A Good Attitude Is KEY. This position works under moderate supervision and has no supervisory responsibilities.
SPECIFIC DUTIES (70%):
Processing NEW donations and purchased product in the receiving area, including:
- Receive, inspect, and process corporate donations, purchased merchandise, and other inventory requiring cost tracking.
- Accurately enter inventory information into the inventory management system, including descriptions, quantities, costs, fair market value, and resale pricing.
- Verify purchase orders, packing slips, and vendor invoices for accuracy.
- Prepare donor receipts and maintain supporting documentation for inventory records.
- Price merchandise according to established pricing guidelines and recommend pricing adjustments based on product condition, sell-through, and market trends.
- Merchandise new inventory to maximize sales and maintain an attractive presentation.
- Manage seasonal product transitions and promotional displays.
- Monitor inventory performance, identify slow-moving merchandise, and recommend markdowns or other actions to improve inventory turnover.
- Assist Store Management with inventory reporting, inventory counts, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Maintain organized receiving, inventory, and storage areas while following established inventory procedures.
OTHER DUTIES (30%):
- Serve as a positive ambassador for Habitat for Humanity by providing courteous assistance to donors, customers, volunteers, vendors, and fellow team members.
- Assist other departments as business needs require, including receiving, merchandising, sales floor support, and special projects.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.

- Answer phones and assist with general store inquiries when needed.
- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Store Management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Proficient with basic computer applications and accurate data entry.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate inventory and financial records.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, costs, and pricing.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members across multiple departments.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with donors, customers, vendors, volunteers, and fellow employees.
- Willingness to learn inventory systems, pricing procedures, and Habitat ReStore policies.
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand / walk on concrete surface for long periods
- Ability to work in a warehouse setting subject to heat, cold, and dust
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.; Carrying 30 lbs.; Pushing 50 lbs.; Pulling 50 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
