Conley Rose, P.C. is an intellectual property law firm with offices in Houston and Dallas, Texas. We are currently seeking an intelligent, team-oriented person to assist with general law firm billing and accounting tasks firm wide. This position is full-time (40 hours/ week) and is partially remote for the present time. The ideal candidate would be located in the Dallas, TX metro area to be able to attend occasional office meetings or training sessions. Experience in the legal field or law firm setting is preferred.
Responsibilities include completion of all aspects of monthly firm billing processes for multiple clients including: interacting with billing attorneys, prebill & invoice preparation in SurePoint LMS, and electronic invoice submissions (LEDES), monitoring accounts receivables, maintaining Patent and Trademark Offices Deposit Accounts and familiarity with the application of Client Trust accounts. Experience with Surepoint LMS or other billing and accounting software is required. This position will be coordinating with other billing professionals, communicating with billing attorneys and accounting manager all throughout the month. Adhoc tasks will involve report generation of accounting/ billing data as required, some cost entry for client/matters and monitoring account balances for client trust. This position will also require collaboration with others in the firm using telephone and video conferencing on a regular basis when working remotely.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- 3-5 years Billing / Accounts Receivable experience
- Experience using accounting software(s)
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe
- Detail oriented and timeline conscious
- Ability to work well with others and assist the team where needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to prioritize work and manage multiple tasks
- Flexibility to adjust to role changes as needed
Preferred Qualifications;
- General accounting skills preferred
- Experience with a legal accounting software and time and billing system (eg: LMS, Juris, Clio, MyCase)
- Previous experience in a law firm environment and/or legal billing field
- Working knowledge of e-billing systems (eg: Legal Tracker, Onit & Collaborati)
