Join a Growing Manufacturing Team
BCS Switchgear is seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team in Pilot Point, Texas.
We design and build custom electrical switchgear and power distribution equipment for customers across the United States. This position is responsible for accurately forming sheet metal components used in the construction of our switchgear cabinets and assemblies.
The ideal candidate has experience operating CNC press brakes, understands sheet metal fabrication, and can consistently produce accurate parts from drawings while maintaining a high standard of quality and safety.
What You'll Do
As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for:
- Set up and operate CNC press brake equipment
- Form sheet metal parts according to engineering drawings and production requirements
- Select and install the proper punches, dies, and tooling for each job
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, bend dimensions, angles, and tolerances
- Measure completed parts using tape measures, calipers, squares, and other measuring tools
- Make machine and tooling adjustments as needed to maintain accurate dimensions
- Verify first-piece parts before continuing production
- Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy and overall quality
- Load and unload sheet metal parts safely
- Identify drawing, material, tooling, or forming issues and communicate them to the appropriate team members
- Perform basic machine and tooling inspections
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Assist with other fabrication operations as production needs require
What We're Looking For
- Previous CNC press brake operating experience
- Strong understanding of sheet metal forming and bending
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings
- Ability to accurately use measuring tools
- Ability to determine proper tooling and machine setup
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts
- Ability to work independently and maintain production expectations
- Reliable and punctual
- Ability to safely lift, handle, and position sheet metal components
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled
- Team-oriented mindset
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
Preferred
- Experience operating Amada CNC press brakes
- Experience with Amada 3i controls
- Experience working with tight tolerances and custom sheet metal parts
- Experience in switchgear, electrical enclosure, cabinet, or similar sheet metal manufacturing
- Experience with CNC laser-cut parts and downstream fabrication processes
- Forklift experience

Compensation
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Pay is based on brake press experience, skills, and qualifications.
Schedule
Monday-Friday
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
1-Hour Lunch Break (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)
