Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and mechanical blueprints to accurately fabricate components.
- Perform various welding techniques including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), and SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) adhering to AWS (American Welding Society) standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape sheet metal, piping, and structural components.
- Measure materials precisely using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments; apply shop math for accurate fabrication.
- Operate rigging equipment and forklifts safely to move heavy materials and assembled parts within the shop.
- Interpret technical drawings and schematics to guide fabrication processes.
- Assist in assembly, pipe threading and mechanical fabrication tasks as needed to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols related to construction site experience and shop operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in metal fabrication or welding within a manufacturing or construction setting.
- Strong background in shop experience with knowledge of aluminum, stainless and mild steel, pipe installation, or structural steel is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, FCAW, SMAW welding processes; ability to weld metals as required.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, shop math, and mechanical blueprint interpretation.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, plasma cutting equipment and press brake machines.
- Knowledge of AWS codes & standards for fabrication and welding practices.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; experience with machining or pipe threading is a plus.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
