Duties
- Lead and manage the daily operations of the marine service department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery
- Oversee repair and maintenance activities including engine diagnostics, transmissions, oil changes, suspension work, tire services, brake repairs, and diesel engine repairs
- Supervise service technicians and mechanics, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to foster professional growth
- Develop and implement service procedures that meet safety standards and industry best practices
- Coordinate with customers to understand their needs, provide estimates, upsell additional services such as boat body repairs or alignment services, and ensure customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory levels for parts and supplies necessary for various marine repairs
- Handle administrative tasks including service writing, auto estimating, cash handling, and maintaining detailed records of all service activities
- Promote a culture of safety, quality assurance, and continuous improvement within the team
Qualifications
- Proven experience in dealership or automotive service management with a strong background in marine or vehicle repair environments
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, brakes, suspension components, air brakes, shocks & struts, tire services, oil changes, auto body repairs, and diesel engine repairs
- Hands-on mechanic experience with a solid understanding of automotive repair processes and technical troubleshooting skills
- Demonstrated success in upselling services while maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Familiarity with auto estimating software and service writing procedures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with customers and team members alike
- Valid certifications in automotive repair or marine technology are preferred but not mandatory
