Aviva Senior Living has a full-time opportunity for a Floor Technician working, Wednesday-Sunday 12p-8:30p.
Position Overview
The Floor Technician implements facility maintenance policies and procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet resident needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
Essential Functions include, but are not limited to:

Follows established maintenance schedules, overall floor maintenance of hard surface and carpet (dust and wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction & bonneting) of areas that include offices, resident rooms, corridors, lobbies, entrances, stairwells and other public areas such as dining rooms.

Performs housekeeping and cleaning activities within well established guidelines and assigned areas to ensure that quality standards, safety guidelines and customer service expectations are met.

Satisfactory and timely completion of assigned cleaning area according to schedule.

Reports equipment/cleaning product needs and or malfunctions to supervisor in a timely fashion.

Safe and proper mixing and use of cleaning solutions and adheres to all safety precautions.

Collects trash/recycling/soiled linen from the units and for the proper disposal of trash/recycling/laundry in an outside/soiled linen barrel container.

Transports trash to main dumpster.

Cleans bodily fluids, window cleaning and high dusting.

Represents facility in a positive manner; able to follow oral instructions, pleasant, tactful and courteous and cooperative with supervisor, co-workers, residents and client staff.

Follows maintenance and repair schedules for all areas of the facility and grounds.

Attends in-service training programs for maintenance staff and as assigned.

Follows Residents’ Rights policies at all times.

Observes infection control procedures related to the maintenance department.

Agrees not to disclose resident’s protected health information and promptly report suspected or known violations of such disclosure to the Supervisor.

Reports all accidents/incidents to supervisor no matter how minor they may be.

Reports suspected resident abuse immediately to the Administrator.
Educational/Professional Qualifications:

High School diploma/equivalent.
-
1-3 years of experience with operating floor maintenance equipment, as well as light maintenance of equipment.

Experience in a long-term healthcare setting preferred, but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

Able to follow oral and written instructions.

Able to be at work on time.

Able to cooperate with other employees and residents.

Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continuous basis.

Knowledge of how to strip, wax and burnish floors with minimal to no assistance.

Able to accomplish all responsibilities without supervision or other employee assistance and do so without injury to oneself or other individuals.

Able to fully understand and complete all In-Services and required trainings.
