Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor patient health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes according to care plans
- Administer medications safely following HIPAA regulations and prescribed instructions
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote independence
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light cleaning duties in accordance with health standards
- Support residents in engaging with community activities, social outings, or recreational programs to foster social connections
- Document care activities accurately in resident records, ensuring compliance with privacy laws such as HIPAA
Skills
- Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and the ability to observe patient conditions carefully
- Certification in CPR and First Aid to respond effectively during emergencies
- Familiarity with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and care plan implementation
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members, families, and healthcare professionals
- Experience with vital signs measurement, patient observation, and documentation in compliance with HIPAA standards
