Job Summary

Duties
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori and other pedagogical approaches.
- Lead classroom activities that promote curiosity, creativity, and active learning among preschool-aged children.
- Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management and classroom management strategies.
- Collaborate with staff to monitor child progress using assessments and standardized testing tools; adapt instruction to meet individual needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about their child's development, milestones, and classroom experiences.
- Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws related to child welfare and safety; maintain accurate documentation of incidents or concerns.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff, providing guidance on curriculum development, classroom routines, and child development best practices.
Skills
- Extensive experience working with children in early childhood settings, including preschool or daycare environments.
- Strong knowledge of child development instruction, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Proficiency in curriculum development across multiple disciplines such as literacy education, math, physical education, and science.
- Familiarity with special education needs, early intervention programs, and inclusive teaching practices.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners effectively.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate hands-on activities, standardized testing preparation, and age-appropriate learning tools.
- Certification in first aid and CPR; knowledge of mandated reporting laws; understanding of childhood welfare policies.
- Experience teaching physical education or implementing movement-based activities; familiarity with Montessori methods is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills for managing classroom routines, lesson planning, documentation, and parent communication.
