Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and durability
- Apply paint using hand tools, brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray painting), and power tools to achieve smooth finishes on walls, ceilings, trim, stucco, masonry, and other surfaces
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and construction plans to accurately execute painting projects aligned with specifications
- Conduct surface preparation for construction and renovation projects including drywall installation, framing, carpentry (trim carpentry), restoration work, and masonry repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by using respiratory protection equipment and following protocols during hazardous tasks such as industrial painting or working at heights
- Perform site inspections to assess surface conditions and determine appropriate materials and techniques for each project
- Coordinate with team members on fixture installation, drywall finishing, concrete finishing, welding tasks, or other maintenance activities related to construction painting projects
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction or industrial painting with a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques and application methods
- Knowledge of color theory to match paints accurately and create visually appealing finishes
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, spray equipment (including airless sprayers), and scaffolding setups
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and schematics for precise project execution
- Familiarity with safety regulations including proper respiratory protection use during spray painting or hazardous work environments
- Experience with renovation projects involving plastering, caulking, fixture installation, restoration work or remodeling is highly desirable
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations necessary during project planning and execution
- Construction site experience including working with carpentry (frame carpentry), masonry (stucco), concrete finishing or masonry work is preferred
- Strong attention to detail with visual color comparison skills to ensure consistent quality across all painted surfaces
