Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Lumper to join our warehouse team in Gardena. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading shipments, ensuring accurate order picking, and maintaining safety standards. This role requires familiarity with heavy equipment operation, warehouse management systems, and materials handling procedures. The Lumper plays a vital part in ensuring smooth warehouse operations, supporting shipping & receiving functions, and maintaining inventory accuracy.
Position Details

- Start times can be , 3pm, or 5pm (3 different shifts)
- Pay: $19.00
- Location: Gardena AND near by cities
- Position requires ability to travel to different work sites as needed
- Weekend and overtime work mandatory as needed

Responsibilities
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment
- Operate RF scanners for accurate order picking and inventory management
- Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including verifying shipments and documenting discrepancies
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform basic maintenance
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines to maintain a safe work environment
- Handle materials with care during loading, unloading, and storage activities
- Support warehouse management system updates to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and shipments
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow efficiency
- Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas to ensure safety and efficiency
Experience
- Prior experience in warehouse distribution or related field is a must have 2 years of experience
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, clamp trucks, or pallet jacks is highly desirable
- Knowledge of order picker operations and shipping & receiving procedures
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners
- Construction or materials handling background is a plus
- OSHA certification or knowledge of safety standards in warehouse environments is preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and experience with heavy equipment maintenance are advantageous
- Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse setting is beneficial but not required
Physical requirements and environmental conditions:
· Ability to lift and carry heavy objects weighing up to 80 pounds on a regular basis.
· Physical endurance and endurance to perform repetitive tasks, such as bending, lifting, bending, and standing for long periods of time.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
· Comfortable working in various weather conditions, including extreme temperatures and humidity, if necessary.
· Ability to hear and understand audible cues and instructions in a noisy environment.
· Good vision, including depth perception and peripheral vision, to safely maneuver the forklift and navigate the facility.
· Exposure to charging noises and vibrations.
· Clear verbal and nonverbal communication skills to follow directions, collaborate with team members, and report any safety issues promptly.
· Ability to maneuver within confined spaces, climb stairs, work on elevated platforms, and maintain balance while walking on uneven surfaces.
· Manual dexterity to safely handle, manipulate, and control various sizes of items, packages, and machinery.
