We are looking for an experienced Metal Fabricator / CAM Programmer to join our team.
This position has two primary responsibilities:
1. Welding and Metal Fabrication
The candidate must have hands-on experience with both TIG and MIG welding, along with general metal fabrication. Much of the fabrication work will involve stainless steel sheet metal, steel tubing, weld cleanup, grinding, fitting, and assembly.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working from drawings or sketches to produce accurate fabricated parts and assemblies. Precision fabrication is important in this role, including working with dimensional tolerances as tight as ±.005" depending on the part or assembly. Strong attention to detail is required, especially with fit-up, weld appearance, cleanup, and finished part quality.
2. CAM Programming and Laser Support
The candidate must also have experience with computer-aided manufacturing programming, preferably using Autodesk Fusion or similar CAD/CAM software.
The CAM programming portion of this role will primarily consist of flat pattern creation, simple sketch modifications, and preparing parts for the laser cutting process. This person will also assist with sheet metal unfolding by working with our press brake operator to help prepare accurate flat patterns for formed parts.
Experience with high powered fiber laser cutters is a plus and will be utilized as part of the laser support responsibilities.
This is a hands-on shop position that requires someone comfortable working both on the fabrication floor and with CAD/CAM software. Applicants must have experience in both welding/fabrication and CAM programming. This is not an entry-level position.
