This position plays an important role in supporting our Heavy Duty Truck Center and Collision Center by maintaining an organized lot, assisting technicians, preparing vehicles for delivery, and ensuring our facilities remain clean, safe, and efficient.
What You'll Do
- Safely move commercial trucks, trailers, customer vehicles, and equipment throughout the dealership, service department, collision center, and storage areas.
- Receive and stage new truck deliveries, customer vehicles, and vendor shipments.
- Organize and maintain the dealership lot to ensure vehicles are properly parked and ready for service, repair, or customer pickup.
- Perform vehicle check-in and check-out inspections and report any visible damage or concerns.
- Wash, vacuum, and prepare vehicles for customer delivery.
- Fuel vehicles and check fluid levels as requested.
- Transport vehicles, parts, tires, and materials between departments or off-site locations.
- Maintain clean, organized shop areas, parking lots, storage areas, and workspaces.
- Assist with general housekeeping duties, including emptying trash and keeping work areas free of debris.
- Deliver and pick up vehicles, parts, or equipment from vendors, customers, and other dealership locations.
- Maintain accurate key control and ensure vehicles and equipment are properly secured.
- Follow all company safety procedures, OSHA regulations, EPA guidelines, and safe driving practices.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service when interacting with customers and vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate commercial trucks and various vehicle types.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Previous dealership, truck center, fleet, or automotive experience is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
- Lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Repeatedly enter and exit commercial trucks and other vehicles.
- Work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Safely operate vehicles and equipment while maintaining awareness of your surroundings.
