Altius, a licensed Illinois adult-use cannabis dispensary, is looking for qualified applicants to serve as the Sales Associates/Altiutude Specialists in Carol Stream, Illinois.
Position Summary:
A sales associate who can become an integral part of our organization and grow with our company. The sales associate will educate customers and answer questions on product offerings as well as paraphernalia. The sales associate is responsible for identifying the individual needs of customers, providing superior product knowledge, and conducting sales transactions efficiently and accurately. The sales associate will further support the retail operations by keeping working areas clean and orderly. Our ideal candidate is a motivated, friendly individual who strives to provide a genuine experience to customers with professionalism, poise, and patience. A passion for cannabis coupled with a strong adherence to protocol and compliance are a must.
Job Summary:
- Follow SOPs to maintain compliant retail experience
- Ensure accuracy of online orders before pick-up or finalizing a transaction
- Connect and educate customers with products that can achieve their desired result
- Educate and sell non-cannabis products such as paraphernalia, smoking accessories, branded merchandise, and other non-cannabis inventory offerings
- Follow best practices for cash handling, including responsibility for cash closeouts and maintenance of petty cash amounts
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, work areas
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all store vendors, products offerings, and industry trends
- Complete transactions at the POS and ensure the state-monitored inventory system accurately updates inventory
- Provide support to managers and other team members
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Illinois cannabis laws

Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, bend, kneel, squat, and twist
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Open availability to work all hours required without restrictions as to the time of day or day of week, including, but not limited to, days, evenings, weekends, overnight shifts, and holidays
Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills
- At least 1 year customer service experience in a retail, high demand, fast paced environment
- High-school diploma required
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Must pass all required Federal background checks for state licensing
- Fundamental understanding of cannabinoids and their effects on the body is preferred
- Prior experience in the cannabis industry is a plus

Compensation:
Starting wages of $16/hr plus tips with room for advancement. Additional benefits are available after a initial probationary period.

4 - Are you delinquent in the filing of State taxes?
5 - Are you willing to undergo a background check and fingerprinting as required under State Law?
6 – Have you been arrested, charged, or convicted of any felony, violent crime, or excluded offense (see below)?
"Excluded offense" means:
A violent crime defined in Section 3 of the Rights of Crime Victims and Witnesses Act or a substantially similar offense that was classified as a felony in the jurisdiction where the person was convicted; or a violation of a state or federal controlled substance law that was classified as a felony in the jurisdiction where the person was convicted, except that the Department may waive this restriction if the person demonstrates to the Department's satisfaction that his or her conviction was for the possession, cultivation, transfer, or delivery of a reasonable amount of cannabis intended for medical use.
This exception does not apply if the conviction was under state law and involved a violation of an existing medical cannabis law. (Section 10 of the Act)
