Eric Scott Designs is growing, and we’re looking for a talented Interior Designer to join our team.
We are a creative, detail-driven interior design firm specializing in thoughtfully designed residential and commercial spaces. Our work is about more than selecting beautiful furnishings and finishes—we create distinctive, layered interiors that reflect the personality of our clients while balancing beauty, comfort, and function.
We are looking for a designer with a strong creative eye, a refined sense of style, and the ability to help take a project from the first idea through the final installation.
This is an opportunity to be part of a boutique design studio where creativity is encouraged, ideas are valued, and every project is approached with an individual point of view.
The Role
As an Interior Designer with Eric Scott Designs, you will be involved in multiple aspects of the design process—from conceptual development and client presentations to material selections, documentation, construction coordination, and final styling.
You’ll work directly with Eric, his team, our clients, architects, builders, contractors, vendors, and craftspeople to help bring each project's vision to life.
No two projects are exactly alike, and we’re looking for someone who enjoys that.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with clients to understand their lifestyle, aesthetic, needs, goals, and investment expectations.
- Assist in developing distinctive design concepts that reflect both the client's personality and the Eric Scott Designs aesthetic.
- Create space plans, elevations, drawings, renderings, and design presentations.
- Select and specify furniture, lighting, plumbing fixtures, flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, hardware, fabrics, wallcoverings, window treatments, artwork, and accessories.
- Source unique furnishings, materials, artwork, and decorative elements that give our projects an individual point of view.
- Develop finish palettes, furniture plans, and presentation materials.
- Prepare specifications, selections, proposals, and other project documentation.
- Communicate and coordinate with architects, builders, contractors, workrooms, vendors, and suppliers.
- Participate in site visits and construction meetings as needed.
- Help monitor project schedules, budgets, product lead times, and installations.
- Assist with furniture installations, accessorizing, artwork placement, and final styling.
- Help ensure that the smallest details are considered and that the finished space reflects the original design vision.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who understands that exceptional interior design is found in the details.
You should have a natural eye for color, scale, proportion, texture, lighting, materials, and composition, along with the organizational skills necessary to turn creative ideas into finished spaces.
The ideal candidate is:
- Creative and visually driven
- Sophisticated in their approach to design
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable juggling multiple projects and priorities
- Confident communicating with clients and industry professionals
- Collaborative and receptive to feedback
- Resourceful and willing to find solutions when challenges arise
- Professional, personable, and dependable
- Excited to learn, grow, and contribute creatively to the firm
We appreciate designers who understand current trends but aren't dependent on them. Our goal is to create interiors that feel collected, personal, sophisticated, and memorable rather than simply following what is popular.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Interior design experience is preferred, particularly in residential, commercial, renovation, or remodeling projects.
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, AutoCAD, or similar design and rendering programs is highly valued.
- Understanding of construction documents, renovation processes, and interior detailing.
- Knowledge of furniture, textiles, finishes, lighting, cabinetry, flooring, and other interior materials.
- Strong space-planning abilities and understanding of scale and proportion.
- Experience with project budgeting, specifications, purchasing, or estimating is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while also being an active part of a collaborative design team.
Why Eric Scott Designs?
At Eric Scott Designs, we believe great interiors should feel as individual as the people who live and work in them.
We aren't interested in creating the same room over and over again. We enjoy mixing materials, periods, textures, colors, custom elements, and unexpected details to create spaces with personality.
As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to work closely on projects, contribute creatively, interact with clients and industry partners, and see your ideas become real spaces.
We are looking for someone who wants more than simply a job in interior design—we want someone who is excited to create, contribute, learn, and grow with Eric Scott Designs.
Compensation
Competitive compensation based on experience, qualifications, and skill level.
