Job Overview
The Production Lead will lead a team of production workers, providing guidance, training, and support to optimize productivity and meet production targets. In addition, the Production Lead will ensure efficient operation, adherence to quality standards, and a safe working environment.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities, including processing, sorting, packing and distribution.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards, food safety regulations, and company policies.
- Runs efficiently and is proactive in the prevention of downtime and rework to meet customers’ demands and business needs.
- Identify areas for process improvement to increase operational efficiency and reduce waste.
- Communicate and provide information to management and colleagues in a timely manner to produce and meet expectations.
- Communicate effectively with production department and cross functional teams to coordinate production activities and resolve issues.
- Operate and handle sorting machines and optical sorters.
- Use computer software for machines including, Sortex, Xray, computer panels, etc.
- Responsible for adjusting speeds and blending products to meet quality expectations.
- Balances weight in jobs, consumer tickets for product ran and follows correct inventory procedures of product.
- Works closely with forklift operators on staging bins that are being consumed by job and checking quality of bins before they are dumped.
- Completes and passes QC test. Maintain all necessary documentation and paperwork pertaining to daily job duties.
- Train and mentor production staff to maintain high levels of productivity, efficiency, and quality. Relays company information as needed, issues weekly meetings and conducts basic training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Experience
- HS diploma or equivalent required.
- Almond Huller Experience Preferred.
- At least two years of related experience required.
- At least two years of experience leading a team preferred.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
