People Operations Generalist (Hybrid)
The Opportunity
StepOne Neurodiversity Services is seeking a People Operations Generalist to deliver an exceptional employee experience while supporting the full employee lifecycle across our growing organization. This role combines operational excellence, employee support, HR technology, and process improvement to ensure our people practices scale alongside the business.
You will partner closely with departments such as Human Resources, Payroll, Clinical Operations, and Recruiting to create seamless employee experiences throughout the employee life cycle. You will serve as a trusted resource for employees while maintaining the systems, processes, and compliance that keep our organization running efficiently.
This role plays a key role in delivering efficient, high-quality support to employees across the employee lifecycle for multiple companies.
This position is responsible for executing high-volume processes such as onboarding, offboarding, and employee data management, while ensuring accuracy and compliance within HR systems.
Location
This is a hybrid position with three days a week in office (SouthSide of Pittsburgh) and two days a week remote. Parking pass in a nearby lot will be provided. This role will report to the senior leadership.

What You Will Do
Employee Lifecycle Administration
· Complete background screenings for hires and ongoing compliance needs
· Process onboarding and offboarding for all employees, including clinical and administrative staff
· Maintain employee records in HR systems and ensure alignment with clinical systems (e.g., CentralReach)
· Coordinate background checks, child abuse clearances, and required state-specific compliance documentation (e.g., CPSL, Act 33/34/73 in PA, additional states as added)
· Track and manage employee credentials, licenses, and certifications (e.g., RBT, BCBA, CPR/BLS), including expirations and renewals
· Manage employee status and pay changes, ensuring accurate updates across HRIS, payroll, and practice management systems
· Coordinate onboarding requirements specific to client service delivery, including training completion, supervision assignments, and system access
· Ensure timely processing of terminations, including removal from payer rosters, system access deactivation, and documentation compliance
· Partner with clinical leadership to ensure staff meet requirements for service delivery, including supervision ratios and training compliance
· Maintain audit-ready documentation to support payer, state, and accreditation reviews
HRIS & Data Management
· Administer and maintain accurate data in the company’s HRIS, including ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accurate employee data across all modules
- Utilize and support ADP modules including Core HR, Payroll, Time & Attendance, Benefits, and Reporting
- Process employee changes within ADP, including hires, terminations, compensation updates, and status changes
- Ensure data integrity across systems by performing regular audits and reconciling discrepancies between HRIS, payroll, and other platforms (e.g., practice management systems)
- Partner with payroll to ensure seamless data flow and accurate processing of employee information and payroll changes
- Generate standard and ad hoc reports from ADP to support HR, finance, and operational needs
- Support system configurations, workflows, and process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability
- Troubleshoot system issues and serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding HR system access and functionality
- Maintain documentation of HRIS processes, user guides, and best practices to support consistency and training
- Conduct regular audits of ADP Workforce Now data and employee documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards
Benefits & Employee Support
· Administer benefits enrollment and changes, including new hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and annual open enrollment; ensure timely and accurate processing in HRIS and carrier systems while reconciling eligibility and deductions
· Serve as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, providing timely, accurate guidance on policies, benefits, payroll, and employment-related questions, and escalating complex issues as needed
· Support employees with HR systems and processes, including navigation of ADP Workforce Now (self-service, timekeeping, benefits), troubleshooting access issues, and providing training or guidance to ensure a smooth employee experience
Cross-Department Communication
· Serve as the primary point of coordination for cross-functional communication related to employee changes, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, and compensation updates.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, Operations, and leadership to ensure timely and accurate dissemination of employee-related information.
- Lead communication workflows to ensure all stakeholders are informed of changes that impact systems, reporting, access, and employee status.
- Proactively identify communication gaps and implement standardized processes to improve clarity and efficiency across departments.
- Ensure alignment between HRIS updates and downstream impacts (payroll, benefits, compliance, and reporting).
- Maintain documentation of communication protocols and support continuous improvement of cross-department processes.
- Act as a central liaison to resolve discrepancies and ensure consistency of employee data and messaging across teams.
· Manage and coordinate contractor documentation with customers to ensure all required agreements, credentials, and compliance materials are completed accurately and maintained up to date. This role serves as a liaison between the company, contractors, and clients to facilitate timely submission, track requirements, and resolve documentation issues. By maintaining organized records and ensuring alignment with customer-specific standards, this function supports smooth onboarding, ongoing compliance, and uninterrupted service delivery.

What Background You Should Have
· 2 – 5 years of experience performing applicable HR/People operations functions of employee lifecycle administration, HRIS and data management, cross-departmental communication, and employee benefits support
· HRIS experience with ADP Workforce Now required
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to manage high-volume work and standardize processes for efficiencies

Work Environment
This role is performed in office and remotely and includes heavy computer work that requires the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing – including frequent talking, hearing, writing, typing, reading, and significant comprehension. Regular and consistent attendance and reliability is critical.
Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
