Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS, ensuring special requests are noted and fulfilled
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Assist with bussing tables, cleaning work areas, and resetting tables efficiently to ensure smooth operations
- Manage cash handling transactions accurately and process payments via POS systems like Toast or cashiering tools
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, daily specials, and wine or beverage pairings to provide expert recommendations
- Uphold food safety standards and sanitation protocols to ensure a safe dining environment for all guests
- Support guest relations by addressing questions, resolving issues professionally, and creating a welcoming atmosphere
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, preferably with fine dining or nightclub settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or similar platforms; experience with OpenTable is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests positively and handle diverse situations gracefully
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy hours effectively
- Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to upsell menu items confidently while maintaining guest satisfaction
- Basic math skills for cash handling, billing accuracy, and transaction processing
- Previous experience in serving roles such as host/hostess or bussing enhances your ability to excel in this position
