We are searching for a Junior Software Engineer to help bridge the gap between our cutting-edge software development and physical machinery execution.
In this dynamic, hands-on role, you will be the tactical anchor responsible for commissioning our proprietary software systems on both our internal production floor and customer PCs. You will tackle entry-level programming assignments and script writing using C# and .NET, manage and create comprehensive technical documentation, and ensure our systems deploy flawlessly.
Serving as a critical liaison and Point of Contact (POC), you will keep communication fluid between our Lead Software Engineers, manufacturing personnel, and field service technicians to troubleshoot deployment roadblocks and streamline technical hand-offs.

Position Overview
The Junior Software Engineer plays a vital role in bridging the gap between cutting-edge software development and physical machinery execution. In this role, you will be responsible for the configuration, deployment, and optimization of software systems on both our internal production floor and customer PCs. Acting as a critical technical point of contact, you will facilitate clear communication between our Lead Software Engineers, Manufacturing team, and Field Service technicians. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with foundational programming skills in C# and modern frameworks, a hands-on approach to hardware-to-software system configuration, and a passion for industrial automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Software System Commissioning: Configure, test, and deploy proprietary and third-party software applications on internal machinery and customer PCs, ensuring system stability and seamless operational integration.
- Core Programming Tasks: Execute entry-level programming assignments, script writing, and bug fixes utilizing C#, .NET, and Node.js frameworks under the guidance of Lead Software Engineers to support continuous software improvement.
- Technical Cross-Department Liaison: Serve as the primary Point of Contact (POC) between the software engineering team, manufacturing floor personnel, and field service technicians to streamline technical hand-offs and resolve deployment bottlenecks.
- Comprehensive Software Documentation: Create, update, and maintain detailed technical manuals, deployment logs, software version histories, and customer-facing installation guides.
- Customer PC Configuration: Remotely access or directly interface with customer hardware to install software suites, calibrate system settings, and troubleshoot initial startup environment conflicts.
- Quality Assurance Testing: Assist in staging and testing software builds prior to production release, documenting system behaviors, errors, and performance metrics.
- Software Documentation Creation & Management: Draft, organize, and systematically maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including software architecture guides, deployment logs, system configuration manuals, version release notes, and user-friendly troubleshooting instructions to standardize processes across teams.
Qualifications & Skills
- Programming Foundations: Proficient understanding of core programming concepts, object-oriented design, and data structures. Direct experience or familiarity with C# and the .NET framework is desirable.
- Modern Scripting & Web Environments: Familiarity with JavaScript environments, with direct experience or exposure to Node.js considered a significant plus for managing modern software system integrations.
- Industrial Automation Exposure: A foundational understanding of industrial control systems, with prior exposure to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) or ladder logic considered a strong plus for machine-to-software commissioning.
- Operating Systems & Networking: Strong understanding of Windows environment configurations, user permissions, driver installations, and basic network troubleshooting (TCP/IP, local subnetting).
- Communication & Collaboration: Interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex technical software updates into clear, actionable guidance for assembly technicians and service reps.
- Technical Writing: A methodical approach to software debugging combined with the ability to draft clear, logical step-by-step procedures for non-technical users.
Job Requirements
- Educational Background: Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent professional hands-on experience in a technical/engineering discipline.
- Industrial Environment Adaptability: Ability to split time between a professional office space and an active manufacturing shop floor.
- Physical Capability: Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods, navigate manufacturing facilities, and occasionally lift or handle computer hardware and testing peripherals up to 25 lbs.
