The Residential Monitor is responsible for monitoring the ongoing operation of the Transitional Housing Program and facility to always ensure adequate supervision and safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain the overall security and operational control of the facility.

Maintain chronological written records of events that occur during the shift and document any unusual occurrences in the facility logbook.

Complete statistical reports, daily census reports, incident reports and additional reports or forms deemed necessary.

Monitor resident and visitor movements inside and outside the facility.

Control contraband in the facility through general observation; this may include conducting searches as directed by the Program Director.

Randomly tour the facility and grounds at least hourly to ensure a high level of security; document these rounds in the facility logbook.

Supervise the completion of daily chores by residents.

Ensure residents observe all fire and other safety measures.

Ensure all resident medications are stored in separate, labeled containers in a locked medication cabinet at the front desk. Control access to this cabinet, and ensure residents document the dosage they take in the medication log.

Participate and obtain certification in crisis management and first aid/CPR.

Answer incoming calls in a prompt and professional manner.

Immediately notify on-call staff of any emergency situations.

Assist in the serving of meals and maintenance of the facility as needed.

Comply with and enforce specified regulations and requirements as outlined in Volunteers of America’s policies and procedures and the Transitional Housing Operations Manual.

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience in a residential setting is preferred.

Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work is primarily performed in a normal office environment generally while seated at a desk. Dexterity is required to performing work with personal computer keyboard, calculator and other office equipment
