Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead and coordinate nursing care within our healthcare facility. Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor nursing staff, ensuring adherence to clinical standards, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate patient care activities across departments such as medical-surgical, ICU, emergency medicine, geriatrics, and behavioral health.
- Oversee patient assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, IV infusion, catheter care, and wound management.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Lead discharge planning, case management, and utilization review processes to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization.
- Conduct staff scheduling, performance evaluations, and facilitate ongoing training on topics such as infection control, sterile processing, and advanced life support.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for patients with complex needs including dementia care, Alzheimer's care, trauma cases (Level I & II Trauma Centers), pediatric (PICU), neonatal ventilator management, and long-term care residents.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current registration; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
- Proven supervisory or nurse management experience in acute care settings such as hospitals or trauma centers.
- Extensive clinical expertise in critical care (ICU), emergency medicine, medical-surgical units, geriatrics, behavioral health or home care environments.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; proficiency in ICD-9/ICD-10 coding and medical documentation standards.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, infection control protocols and medical terminology.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage complex workflows efficiently.
