Midwest Mouldings, located in Hillsboro Indiana, is dedicated to producing the finest, high quality mouldings, using high quality equipment and providing complete customer satisfaction. They are a privately owned, growing company looking for a Knife Grinder/Sharpener to join their team.
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail oriented KNIFE GRINDER/SHARPENING worker to join our team. This role is perfect for someone who has experience in grinding/ sharpening wood moulding knives. If you bring a great attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to grow, we will train you on everything you need to know.
Along with the responsibility of grinding /sharpening moulder knives, you will have the responsibility of doing maintenance and repair on woodworking equipment, with the exception that moulding knives must have priority to keep sharp and ready moulder knives ready for use.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Knife Grinder/Sharpening worker is responsible to keep several sets of sharp moulder knives on stage ahead of moulders so moulder operators can setup moulders without any delay or hold back.
Sharpen , grind, balance, and maintain moulding knives to manufacturer specifications.
Inspect moulder knives for wear, damaged and proper cutting performance.
Maintain accurate records of knife sharpening, and preventive maintenance activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with knife grinding/sharpening equipment a plus.
Ability to safely sharpen and handle precision cutting tools.
Strong attention to detail to maintain knife profiles and cutting qualities.
Ability to prioritize maintenance tasks and respond to emergencies.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Able to work in a religious environment
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
