Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Licensed Medical Assistant (L1MA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Assist with patient assessments by measuring vital signs, recording medical histories, and updating electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner.
- Support nursing staff with procedures including catheter care, tube feeding, medication administration, and wound care for patients with complex needs like memory care or hospice.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all medical supplies are stocked and sterilized according to HIPAA regulations and safety standards.
- Document medical information accurately using EMR systems, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards and confidentiality protocols.
- Assist patients with mobility challenges or disabilities during transfers and daily activities, providing compassionate caregiving in home or community settings.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to coordinate patient care plans involving physiology, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology.
- Support the administration of medications and treatments for patients with acute or chronic conditions in various care environments.
Skills
- Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical procedures including catheter care, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and tube feeding.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner for accurate documentation of patient records.
- Excellent understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring dementia or Alzheimer’s care.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic nursing practices essential for high-quality patient support.
- Experience in hospice or memory care settings is highly desirable to provide specialized compassionate care.
