Job Summary
17 Hands Coffee is seeking a passionate and customer (and career)-oriented Barista to join our vibrant café team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting high-quality beverages, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. As a Barista, you will play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our guests while showcasing your knowledge of coffee and food service.
This position is for 30-40 hours weekly. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, are mandatory.
Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
- Operate the Clover POS system for cash handling and sales transactions efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including workstations, equipment, and dining spaces.
- Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines to ensure the highest quality of products served.
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of coffee beans, supplies, and food items.
- Engage with customers to provide recommendations based on their preferences and promote special offers or new products.
- Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that fosters teamwork and support.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or retail is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques is a plus; familiarity with various brewing methods is desirable.
- Basic understanding of retail math for accurate cash handling and sales reporting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers and team members.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling regulations is essential.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, willingness to help others, and a passion for delivering outstanding service are key attributes for success in this role.
