Cen-Tex Automotive is looking for an experienced Automotive Service Writer who knows how to take care of customers, sell repairs confidently, and keep a busy independent repair shop moving.
We’re looking for someone who can provide great customer service, communicate clearly, stay organized, and help customers feel comfortable with the money they’re investing in their vehicles.
This is a performance-driven position. The better you take care of customers and help the shop perform, the more money you have the opportunity to make.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Professionally present technician recommendations and estimates
- Sell needed repairs and maintenance
- Keep customers updated throughout the entire repair process
- Manage repair orders from drop-off through pickup
- Work closely with technicians to keep jobs moving
- Monitor workflow and promised completion times
- Follow up on estimates and declined work
- Maintain accurate repair orders and notes in Tekmetric
- Handle extended warranty approvals and communication
- Schedule appointments and manage customer expectations
- Make sure customers are updated before they ever have to call us
- Help drive sales, ARO, gross profit and customer satisfaction
- Deliver the level of customer service Cen-Tex Automotive is known for
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years automotive service writing experience
- Independent automotive repair shop experience preferred
- Strong automotive knowledge
- Proven ability to sell automotive repairs
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Comfortable presenting and closing large repair estimates
- Organized and able to handle a fast-paced environment
- Tekmetric experience is a major plus
- Dependable and accountable
