The Marywood University School of Humanities invites applications for part-time instructors in Philosophy. Candidates must be available to teach in-person courses at the Marywood campus in Scranton, PA during daytime or evening hours. We encourage candidates who have any of the following areas of expertise or competence to apply: Christian Theology, Catholic Social Teaching, Theological Ethics, Religions of the World - Abrahamic, Asian, Indigenous, etc., Interreligious/Interfaith Dialogue. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate core curriculum courses and undergraduate courses in the major.
We encourage candidates with any specialty to apply, but the department has immediate needs for the following courses:
- PHIL 120 The Examined Life
- PHIL 315 Ethics
- PHIL 345 Race, Class, Gender
- PHIL 324 Bioethics
- PHIL 415 Climate Justice
Required Qualifications:
A Masters degree in Philosophy is required along with a commitment to teaching excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to teach undergraduate-level courses in Philosophy.
