A behavior technician is responsible for implementing the BCBA prescribed treatment plan as written, 1:1 or with a small group of patients, based on the principles of applied behavior analysis. The behavior technician is expected to collect data on all prescribed treatment goals, maladaptive behaviors, and complete behavior analytic session notes at the completion of each session. Behavior technicians are expected to comply with all federal and state guidelines associated with medical billing and documentation in addition to all ethical and professional standards set by the BACB. The behavior technician is solely responsible for directly implementing evidence based behavior analytic techniques with a patient(s) with/without direct supervision by a BCBA. Only a percentage of direct technician services are required to be supervised by a BCBA.
*Scheduled hours may vary however typical scheduled hours would be between 9am-5pm Monday - Friday. This is an In-clinic position in Greenfield, IN.
*Must hold a current Registered Behavior Technician certificate through the BACB or apply for RBT examination within 14 days of employment. Fees for application and exam are reimbursed after passing.
*Must be at least 18 years of age and hold a minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.
*Must be able to pass background check including: fingerprinting, State, Local, Child Protection, and Sex Offender registry.
*Must be physically and emotionally capable of managing maladaptive behavior including but not limited to self-injury, physical aggression, biting, hitting, kicking, punching, hair pulling, spitting, etc.
*Registered Behavior Technician training is provided within the first week of employment at which time the employee is expected to complete and pass their competency assessment with a patient and apply for their RBT certification through the BACB by the end of the 2nd week of employment. The employee is expected to schedule the first available RBT exam appointment. If the employee does not pass, they may be eligible for one additional week of training but then will not be offered any working hours until they are able to pass the RBT exam.
