Position Summary
The Abstrax Material Prep Operator is an entry level position for our Long Beach office. This role works jointly with the Extraction team and prep materials for processing. Daily duties include receiving, sorting, and lifting to 50 pounds regularly. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with minimal supervision and in a team setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Receive and organize bulk hops boxes.
- Organize refrigerated storage
- Sort, store, and prepare refrigerated hops for the extraction process.
- Prepare Grinder for each shift/Change of strain
- Break down and cleaning of grinder unit daily/change of strain.
- Accurately record processes on appropriate datasheets
- Maintain a clean work environment including sweeping, mopping, scraping ice, ethanol, and rags.
- Sanitize tools, equipment, and storage units.
- Ensure workspace is clean and ready for the next shift.
- Effectively communicate with extractors, data admin, and lab management
- Maintain work equipment and tools with required maintenance i.e., cleaning condensers, changing filters, washing filter materials, cleaning and maintaining grinders, changing filters.
- Inspect equipment and report any defects.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Follow GMP guidelines
- Stop and inform supervisor or QA on duty of any food safety issue that arises.
- Maintain Shop vacuum and all its components
- Must communicate any issues as soon as they arise with supervisor or manager
- Break down boxes from hop pellets at end of shift
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer software.
- Strong attention to detail and
- Great time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds regularly.
- Basic math skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Warehouse experience preferred.
- cGMP and OSHA Safety experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience is a plus.

Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
ADDITIONAL Requirements
- US work authorization (Required).
- Successfully complete a background check.
