We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to help GovDocs continue building innovative products that accelerate customer growth, maintain our best-in-class retention, and solidify our position as a market leader in employment law compliance. In this role, you won’t just execute on a roadmap – you’ll help set the strategic direction for our products, shape how the team discovers and delivers, and elevate the product practice at GovDocs. From defining multi-year strategy to post-launch measurement and validation, you will lead the decisions that shape what gets built, why it gets built, and whether it achieves the outcome – collaborating closely with engineering, UX design, key stakeholders, customers, and leadership along the way. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for a senior product manager who thrives on solving complex problems, building great products, and raising the ceiling for the teams around them.
Responsibilities:
- Own the outcome – Take full ownership of our product's success across the entire lifecycle: uncovering market demand, prioritizing customer problems, testing proposed solutions, collaborating with UX design and engineering on the build, and jump-starting go-to-market execution to drive adoption and hit our goals.
- Own the "why" – Be the team's north star for prioritization – always prepared to articulate and defend why the team is committing time and resources to a specific problem, grounding every decision in data, customer insights, and business outcomes.
- Stay close to the customer – Continuously engage customers through user interviews, surveys, and customer advisory panels to deeply understand their challenges and validate that our solutions solve them. Synthesize and prioritize market problems and opportunities captured from all internal and external sources.
- Lead through influence – Guide cross-functional teams of engineers and designers – without direct authority – to build products and features that address the highest-priority customer problems. Extend that influence to the broader product team: provide feedback to other PMs, contribute to shared practices around discovery and prioritization, and help shape how the Product function operates at GovDocs.
- Drive product strategy – Partner with the Director of Product to set the multi-year strategic direction for the GovDocs platform. Identify emerging market trends, competitive dynamics, and long-range customer opportunities that inform company-level investment decisions – not just the next cycle’s roadmap.
- Develop the team – Contribute to a high-performing product team by sharing your perspective on discovery, prioritization, and delivery. Participate in hiring and help establish shared team standards.
- Build strong internal partnerships – Cultivate relationships and trust across the organization, including open and proactive collaboration with Customer Success, Marketing, Sales, and Compliance Research.
- Define clear goals and measure everything – Operate with a measurement-first mentality. Set clear objectives, establish success metrics before work begins, and use outcomes – not output – to evaluate progress.
- Make data-informed decisions – Leverage product analytics to drive roadmap, feature, UX, and go/no-go decisions. Partner with the Data Engineering team to ensure the right instrumentation and data infrastructure is in place today and built for tomorrow.
- Write sharp, actionable pitches – Follow the Shape Up methodology to craft concise, well-reasoned pitches that clearly define context, problem, proposed solution, scope boundaries, and risks for new product development initiative.
Qualifications:
- Product management experience in a SaaS and/or B2B environment, with a track record of owning a product area end-to-end through multiple lifecycle stages – from initial discovery through launch, growth, and maturity. Experience operating in regulated or compliance-adjacent markets is a strong plus but not required.
- A strong stakeholder management skill set – you move seamlessly between technical and non-technical audiences, keep stakeholders aligned, manage expectations, and communicate status with clarity and confidence. You’ve managed executive-level stakeholders, influenced roadmap prioritization at the leadership level, and driven alignment across competing organizational priorities.
- Hands-on experience with product and behavioral analytics platforms such as Heap, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or Pendo – including architecting event taxonomies, building dashboards, and translating data into decisions. You can build a measurement framework from scratch for a new product area, or work within an existing one.
- Fluency with modern product development methodologies, including agile practices. Familiarity with the Shape Up framework is a plus, but not a requirement. More importantly, you treat methodologies as a buffet –* drawing from what works for your team –* rather than a rigid rulebook.
- A customer-first mindset – you're equally comfortable leading a user interview with a Fortune 500 client and presenting on a sales call with a new prospect.
- A bias for ownership and service – you'll triage a bug ticket, troubleshoot an issue, or train a non-technical teammate without missing a beat on your current project. No task is beneath you if it moves the team or the customer forward.
- Confident with AI-augmented workflows – we actively leverage AI tools to elevate our team's output across pitch writing, customer feedback analysis, data synthesis, and rapid prototyping.
- An eye for design – you may not be a designer by trade, but you know good UX when you see it and can articulate why something isn't working.
- Clear, confident communication – in writing, in meetings, in Slack. You make complex things simple and keep people informed without being asked.
- Executive presentation skills – you’re comfortable owning the room. You can take a complex product strategy or roadmap update and present it with confidence to executive leadership, customers, or cross-functional partners – without needing a Director in the room to carry the narrative. You know how to read the audience, land the key takeaway, and handle tough questions on your feet.
- A genuine love for the craft –* you’ve read Torres, Cagan, Perri, Ries, and Singer, have strong opinions about their ideas, and enjoy a spirited debate about the best way to build products. You’ve formed your own product philosophy through experience – not just from reading.*

Company Description:
GovDocs serves companies in building and executing their employment law compliance programs in two primary ways:
- We manage all the complexities of identifying and providing the required set of employment law postings from the 1,700+ potential postings across the U.S. and Canada. Using proprietary technology, we allow companies to manage, track and verify postings at each of their locations – including our patent pending PosterCheck technology. Our Employment Law Posting Update service is used by almost 22% of the Fortune 500 and 30% of the Fortune 100.
- This is a first to market Software-as-a-Service starting with our Minimum Wage product and Paid Leave products, which allow companies to identify and track which laws apply to their locations and employees, then provides all relevant data to make decisions. This service was created in response to requests from some of our largest customers who recognized that employment law expansion across and variances between jurisdictions (Federal, State and Local) were too difficult to manually track.
GovDocs has grown revenue annually by 18% since 2008 with a 96% customer retention rate, primarily due to our Postings Update Program both obtaining and retaining customers – as employment law postings are required by law, every company has an existing provider. Our Software Solutions are an entirely new line of business that gives us great growth potential to create a full Employment Law Compliance (ELC) platform of solutions, it is also challenging us to reinvent how we view urgency, innovation and teamwork.
You must be authorized to work in the United States. Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
