Maintains food service equipment and work spaces in a clean and safe condition at all times per facility policies and procedures and applicable regulations. The Manlius Home Assisted Living Community Is looking for a Food Service Aide/Cook. The individual in this position will be responsible for assisting the Food Service Manager in the preparation and service of food to our residents. We have a part time position available for the right qualified candidates.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares and serves food (such as beverages, salads, desserts, and other items assigned by the supervisor) for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu and as directed.
- Prepares, stores, and disposes of food using proper food handling, food labeling, and food safety techniques according to established policies and procedures.
- Maintains the proper temperature of food during preparation and service. Records food temperatures according to established policy.
- Possess ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the Objectives, policies and procedures of the Dietary department
- Maintains food service equipment and work spaces in a clean and safe condition at all times per facility policies and procedures and applicable regulations.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Reliable Transportation
- Must be able to relate to work and with the frail elderly disabled and at times people within the facility.
- Must be able to lift, push pull and move equipment, supplies etc., up to fifty (50) pounds
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
