Job Overview:
We are seeking a Deputy Director to join our team. The Deputy Director will play a key role in supporting the organization's mission and strategic goals. This position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to the growth and success of our organization.
Duties:
- Assist the Emergency Management Director in overseeing daily operations and strategic planning
- Assists with federal grant management, and budget development
- Helps develop and maintain the emergency plan.
- Assists in planning, coordinating, directing and conducting the County emergency Management Agency programs designed to mitigate the effects of emergency hazards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance community engagement
- Helps preparing measures that will preserve life and minimize damage.
- Assists with response coordination and providing necessary assistance during emergencies and establish a recovery system to return the County and its fourteen municipalities to pre-emergency state following a major emergency/disaster.
-Coordination of the CERT/CART volunteer members.
- Represent the organization at meetings, events, and with external partners
Qualifications:
- College degree in a relevant field; or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- A valid State of Maine class C drivers license and clear driving record required.
-Must have completed the following NIMS/ICS Courses: IS-100, IS-700, IS-800 (ISC-300 &ICS-400 is preferred but not required.)
-Must complete within 1 year of employment: HSEEP, IS-120, IS-247a, IS-251, G-191, G556 and G775 (unless extended by Director.)
-Significant formal training in planning, administration and training desired.
-Must have ability to work in demanding and intense/chaotic situations
-Highly experienced with word and Microsoft office applications.
-Sufficient physical ability to meet the department's essential functions
-Such alternatives to the above qualifications as County Administrator may find appropriate and acceptable.
