Founded in 1979, Renewal of Greater NYC is a family-owned restoration company providing disaster recovery services for fire, flood, mold, and other property damage. We help customers restore their homes, belongings, and sense of normalcy through high-quality service and insurance support.
We are seeking a hands-on HR Manager to lead all human resources functions in our growing, fast-paced operation.
Position Summary
Reporting to ownership, the HR Manager oversees all HR functions across field, production, and office teams. This role blends strategic planning with day-to-day execution in a production-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Staffing
- Manage full-cycle hiring and onboarding
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and headcount
- Track hiring metrics and improve recruitment strategies
Employee Relations & Performance
- Handle employee concerns, investigations, and conflict resolution
- Coach supervisors on performance management and accountability
- Lead disciplinary processes and promote a professional team culture
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws
- Manage leaves (FMLA, NYPFL, ADA), workers’ comp, and safety programs
- Maintain audit-ready records, I-9s, and training compliance
Training & Development
- Coordinate onboarding and ongoing training
- Identify skill gaps and support cross-training initiatives
Business Growth & Scaling Support
- Help support company growth through effective workforce planning, recruiting, onboarding, and retention strategies.
- Build scalable HR processes that can support growth across field, production, sales, and office teams.
- Identify gaps in staffing, training, accountability, and communication as the company expands.
- Develop consistent systems for hiring, onboarding, performance management, documentation, and employee development.
- Support the creation of career paths and internal growth opportunities to improve retention.
Payroll, Benefits & Reporting
- Support payroll and benefits administration
- Manage benefits programs and assist with open enrollment
- Track and report HR metrics (headcount, turnover, compliance)
Operations Support
- Maintain a visible presence on the production floor
- Address scheduling, attendance, and workforce challenges
- Align staffing with operational needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in production, logistics, or service environments
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and compliance
- Experience managing hourly workforces
- HR certification (SHRM-CP or PHR) preferred

Salary Range: $100k-$130k annually based on experience
**Must be bilingual - fluent in both Spanish and English**
Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
