Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our dynamic healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications accurately following all state healthcare regulations and facility policies
- Monitor residents’ vital signs, physical condition, and responses to medication treatments
- Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Maintain detailed medical documentation in electronic health record (EHR) systems, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ health status or behavior promptly to nursing staff or supervisors
- Support residents with memory care and dementia-specific needs through compassionate engagement and tailored activities
- Follow proper manual handling procedures for heavy lifting, transfers, and mobility assistance to ensure safety for both residents and staff
Experience
Candidates should have prior assisted living experience, nursing home or hospital background, or home care expertise. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia is highly valued. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical documentation, and electronic medical records (EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner) is essential. Applicants must demonstrate knowledge of physiology, anatomy, tube feeding procedures, catheter care, vital signs measurement, and hospice or Alzheimer’s care. Certification in first aid, CPR, basic life support (BLS), and HIPAA compliance is required. Prior senior care or geriatric patient experience is preferred, along with familiarity working within state healthcare regulations. Candidates should possess excellent caregiver communication skills, a strong understanding of medical records management, and the ability to perform heavy lifting safely when necessary.
