St. Andrew Catholic School is seeking a music teacher/children’s choir director for the 2026-2027 school year.
Qualifications:
Knowledge and appreciation of music characteristic of Catholic tradition (chant, polyphony, and traditional English hymnody) is required. Minimum
of a Bachelor’s Degree in either Music Performance or Music Education, teaching experience, classroom management abilities, and effective
communication skills are all required. Reliability, timeliness, and a collaborative spirit are also needed for success.
Additional opportunities for those applicants qualified to serve as Staff Section Leaders in the parish’s all-auditioned choir, or serve as substitute
organist for the parish.
Duties:
- Direct the school’s Liturgical Choir, under the leadership of the parish Director of Sacred Music.
- Direct fall and spring semester musicals.
- Focus on vocal pedagogy with students, teaching practices of proper technique, vocalize, etc.
- Establish age-appropriate Music Theory and Music Appreciation courses.
