American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Critical Access Hospital, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and proficiency in couplet care.

Acute care setting at a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
-
Labor & Delivery unit with 4 L&D beds, 2 triage beds, and 5 postpartum beds
-
Approximately 1–3 births per day and ~480 births per year
-
Patient ratios: Labor 1:1, Couplet Care 3:1, Unstable Antepartum 1:1, Stable Antepartum 2:1
-
Patient population includes healthy mom/baby, antepartum with Magnesium drips, C-section recovery, nursery babies on Vapotherm, and healthy couplet care
-
Charting is performed in Cerner
-
12-hour day shifts (7AM–7PM), working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
-
No floating to other units required
-
No on-call responsibilities
-
Orientation takes place every Monday
-
Active RN license in Indiana (IN) or a Compact state currently in hand
-
Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and AWHONN Intermediate/Basic Fetal Monitoring

Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required

Experience with antepartum care including Magnesium drips required

Experience receiving babies in C-section and post C-section recovery required

Ability to function in both L&D and couplet care settings required

BSN not required
-
Responsibilities include antepartum care with Magnesium drips, labor and delivery, C-section baby receiving and post C-section recovery, nursery care for stable babies on Vapotherm, and healthy couplet care

Respiratory therapy is available in-house but not stationed on the unit; respiratory support is called in as needed or during C-sections
-
A house supervisor and the nurse manager provide additional support on the unit as needed
-
OB/Neonatologist and 24/7 pharmacy are not on-site
