We are seeking experienced Respiratory Therapists to join our Cardiopulmonary Department.
Location: Blythe, California
Position Type: Per-Diem
Shift Availability: Variable (Days/Nights/Weekends)
Night Shift Differential: Earn an additional $3.50 per hour for all hours worked between 7:00 PM and 7:00 AM.
The Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in the provision of care for inpatients and outpatients of all ages, addressing the needs of patients with respiratory conditions and cardiac disorders. The RT provides the care, treatment and management services in accordance with California state regulations and within the full scope of practice. This position involves a range of responsibilities, including assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating respiratory care treatments for patients of all ages.
Skills and Abilities:

Strong skills in patient assessment, planning and evaluation of intervention effectiveness for patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions.

Ability to plan for and implement treatment plans based on assessment findings, medical orders and established and approved protocols and procedures.

Skill and ability in performing respiratory procedures within the scope of practice for Respiratory Therapist, including but not limited to:

Performing and interpreting twelve lead EKGs.

The safe and effective management of patients on oxygen therapy based on age-specific needs.

The management and safe application, monitoring, and therapeutic adjustments for patients on mechanical ventilation.

Providing aerosolized medication delivery
-
Applying chest Physiotherapy
- Effective airway management

Performing arterial and venous blood draw procedures.

Care for the newborn for unanticipated emergency obstetrical deliveries.

Consistent application of best practice standards to maintain quality and safety, including national patient safety goals, interoperability measures and management of patients with diagnosis of stroke, MI or sepsis.

Assists other members of the healthcare team in the planning and arrangement of post-discharge transitional needs.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Current and valid licensure in the state of California as a Respiratory Care Therapist/Practitioner required.
- Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, preferably in a rural or community hospital setting.
- Current, NRP, PALS, BLS and ACLS Certifications required.
- Graduate of an AMA – approved school.
