Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Director of Nursing (RN) to lead our nursing team within a dynamic healthcare environment. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker with extensive knowledge of assisted living, nursing home operations, home health, hospice care, and acute care settings. The ideal candidate will oversee nursing staff, ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, and maintain the highest standards of patient care. The Director of Nursing will play a crucial role in managing care plans, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring accurate documentation within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise nursing staff across various shifts, ensuring effective shift management and staffing coverage.
- Develop, review, and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to residents' needs, including those with complex medical conditions.
- Oversee the preparation and review of medical records, documentation, and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage resident assessments such as MDS (Minimum Data Set) reviews and ensure accurate coding for Medicare reimbursement.
- Ensure adherence to all federal and state healthcare regulations, including Medicare guidelines and HIPAA compliance.
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic resident care in assisted living, nursing homes, home health, or hospice settings.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for documentation review, data entry, and maintaining up-to-date medical records.
- Provide leadership in nurse management activities including training, mentoring, supervising staff performance, and fostering professional development.
- Monitor quality assurance processes and implement improvements to enhance resident safety and satisfaction.
- Maintain knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support clinical decision-making and resident care strategies.
Requirements
- Valid RN license with current state licensure required.
- Extensive experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health services, hospice care, or acute care environments.
- Proven management and supervising experience in a healthcare setting with strong nurse management skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and documentation review processes.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and medical records management.
- Understanding of Medicare regulations and the requirements for care plans related to reimbursement processes.
- Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to lead multidisciplinary teams effectively.
- Ability to manage shift operations efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care and compliance standards such as HIPAA.
- Experience in handling resident’s <PERSON>;, managing Care Plans, supervising staff performance, and ensuring regulatory compliance is preferred. This role is integral to delivering exceptional resident-centered care while maintaining operational excellence within our healthcare facility.
Pay: $95,000.00 - $118,000.00 per year
