Job Description
Summary:
The VDC+C Engineer contributes and supports specific VDC implementation of Construction Technology needs of our complex project types in our Advanced Technology, Life Sciences, and Manufacturing core markets. The person in this role should be able to manage day-to-day VDC activities, identify and ensure prompt resolution of issues, and work together with the Project Team to ensure the work is proceeding on schedule, within budget, and according to contract requirements and specifications. A successful VDC Coordinator must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, have a high level of attention to detail, be organized, work well under pressure, and work well with diverse teams and personalities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with project teams, architects, and designers to manage, coordinate and assist with 3D model delivery.
- Communicate with on-site project teams to assist with maintaining up to date design files/models.
- Assist in preconstruction pursuits and develop accurate renderings, site logistics plans, 4D/5D schedules.
- Lead and manage coordination of complex MEP systems throughout the design process, BIM coordination, submittal, and construction of the project.
- Develop and integrate reality capture workflows into design, project execution, and as-built phases of construction.
- Support the VDC/BIM Manager in the companywide integration of VDC/BIM software initiatives.
- Develop VDC schedules with Field Team.
- Develop VDC strategies and solutions during the preconstruction phase through the post-occupancy phase of a project.
- Collaborate with trade partners to ensure documents and models are coordinated.
- Participate in training and mentoring of internal staff on the use of VDC/BIM related software.
- Perform model QA/QC to ensure compliance with client expectations and Contract Documents.
- Stay informed of new technologies and advancements in VDC/BIM applications.
- Represent Evans in a professional manner.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
-
Bachelor’s degree in, Construction Management, Building Science or Engineering Degree with VDC/BIM focus and experience.
- Experience and knowledge of construction technology, BIM applications and industry standards.
- Thorough understanding of the design phases and the construction process including standard MEP installation.
- Able to interpret drawings, specifications, building codes, and other technical product and material specifications, as well as manage VDC contractual obligations and responsibilities
- Familiarity with the following software: AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Autodesk Cloud applications.
- Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships
- Self-starter with a high degree of personal responsibility and integrity
- Ability to travel to project sites to promote VDC, BIM and Construction Technology as required
- Highly detail oriented
- Technical Skills: Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Lumion, Bentley Synchro 4D, Recap, MS Office Suite
