OB RN (Postpartum/Mother-Baby) – Travel Contract

We are seeking an experienced OB Registered Nurse (RN) for a travel assignment in Hanford, California. This position supports a specialized maternity unit providing antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in maternal-child nursing and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where flexibility and critical thinking are essential.
Candidates must have the ability to assume patient recovery in Labor & Delivery and assist with cesarean section deliveries, including catching babies during C-sections.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum and postpartum patients.
- Monitor and assess maternal and newborn health status.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and discharge planning.
- Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Respond effectively to obstetrical emergencies and changing patient conditions.
- Support Labor & Delivery recovery needs when required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current BLS Certification
- Current CPR Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or NALS Certification
- Experience in OB, Mother-Baby, Postpartum, or Women's Health Nursing
- Must be able to take over a recovery in Labor & Delivery and assist with cesarean section deliveries
Unit Information
This unit provides:
- Antepartum/Antenatal Care
- Postpartum/Postnatal Care
- Care for Normal Newborns
Note: This department does not primarily function as a Labor & Delivery unit; however, OB nurses must be comfortable supporting Labor & Delivery recovery activities when needed.
Pay: $4,062.26 - $4,892.18 per week
