Position Description
The Concessions Attendant serves as a member of the Patron Services Team for Kirkland Performance Center. This position is responsible for providing quality customer service to patrons and clients before, during, and sometimes after each event. Assignments vary depending on event needs and include duties such as preparing and pouring drinks, maintaining inventory and stocking shelves, and regular cleaning of the space.
Responsibilities
Concessions
- Ensure the safety, security, and exemplary experience for all patrons and clients in accordance with KPC policy and procedures.
- Provide exemplary and fast customer service for drinks and food sales in accordance with Washington State Liquor laws and KPC House Rules
- Operate point-of-sale register, including accurate cash handling and proper sales transactions
- Keep pace with the demands of a busy and sometimes crowded lobby to provide quick service for all patrons
- Serve as Donor Club bartender for special occasions and events
- Stock and maintain inventory
- Clean, organize, and maintain the safety of the Concessions booth and surrounding area
- Complete nightly sales reports and drawer count accurately
- Monthly deep cleaning of the Concessions equipment to maintain functionality and health standards
Required Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older and comfortable with handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- Excellent customer service skills with a minimum of two years in the service industry
- Washington State Class 12 MAST Liquor License (KPC will provide training if needed)
- Strong cash handling and point-of-sale experience
- Ability to work independently within a diverse staff
- Ability to remain calm in emergent and escalated situations
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong verbal and written communication and people skills
- Ability to prioritize and work in a demanding environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous bartending experience
- Previous theater experience
Work Environment
- Theater lobby environment with adequate lighting and temperature
- Lifting of kegs, boxes, or products up to 80lbs
- 400-seat theater- auditorium with adjacent backstage area for the containment of production equipment, musical instruments, performance props, and costumes
- Often crowded public foyer area where food and hard/soft beverages are served and consumed during performance intermissions
- Work indoors with occasional loud noises, dimly lit areas, and publicly crowded spaces

Pay scale for this position is $25.00/hour
Physical Demands/ Location & Work Schedule:
- Location: Kirkland, WA.
- This position is 100% onsite. Given the nature of the assignments, remote work is not applicable.
- This is a part-time non-exempt position expected to work various scheduled hours, primarily for weekend and evening showtimes.
